Abuso Inn was opened in 2005. It is run by one of the oldest families in Stone Town, the Abubakar family who have lived in the area since 1870's.

Althought the building was rebuilt ten years ago all effort have been taken to preserve the local architecture and decor. One the features of the hotel in the elaborate woodwork on the arches in the lounge leading to the rooms. The lounge is furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture and antiques.

Cancellation Policy:

A cancellation fee will be payable for all no-shows and reservations released within 40 days of the arrival of the client based on the following scale:

a) No Shows:               100% of the full booking value
b) Within 4 days:          100% of the full booking value
c) 5 to 8 days:               75% of the full booking value
d) 10 to 16 days:          50% of the full booking value
e) 17 to 40 days:          25% of the full booking value
