Jozani Forest is part of the "Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park", a tropical natural reserve forming an important ecosystem. The high, dense ground water forest is home to the red colobus monkey, a very rare species only found in Zanzibar. A local guide will show you to small colonies of these unusual primates.
The tropical rain forest with its lush vegetation and animal life is an attraction itself. The blue Sykes monkey, elephant shrews and bush babies are other animals to be seen. The tour includes also a walk through the mangrove forest.
