About Us

Zenith Tours is a Zanzibar based tour operator specialising organizing tours on the island of Zanzibar and neighbouring sites of touristic interest. We also provide all the auxiliary services related to tourist needs and services within our area of operation. Apart from our proposed itineraries, we also organize transfers, short day trips and excursions, as well as book flights and ferry tickets.

As a service provider, we strive to offer fast, efficient and reliable service. Our genial field staff meet, assist and escort our clients. We maintain a small, well kept fleet of vehicles. The fleet, consisting of three medium sized buses and several vans and four wheel drives is well maintained and all vehicles are air-conditioned. Our office staff are regularly appraised in order that they may exercise the highest professionalism in their work, and be able to face daily challenges with as much dexterity as possible.

This year, Zenith Tours is celebrating its 12h birthday. The Company has witnessed steady growth since its inception. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards possible, and the highest level of professionalism in our industry. We aim to develop creative and exciting itineraries, provide excellent service and make holiday making in Tanzania and Zanzibar a memorable experience.

We choose all hotels carefully based primarily on our international guests' feedback. Factors measured include the overall atmosphere of the establishment, the friendliness of the staff, quality of food and services, cleanliness and the offering of additional features.

One key factor in our hotel selection is the hotel's awareness for environmental issues such as energy conservation, waste recycling, sewage disposal or air emissions. Most parts of Tanzania and Zanzibar are still an indigenous paradise not exploited by mass tourism, and we want this to stay like that. Further we prefer to work with hotels embracing sensitivity to the interest of the local population, employing locals and utilizing eco-friendly materials, local handicrafts, and supplies as far as possible.

We have a close relationship and constant communication with our hotel partners. This enables us to monitor our guest's sojourn and respond swiftly to any urgent need. Our tour guides are well trained, reliable, and knowledgeable, making the excursions and tours historically and culturally informative, yet fun and enchanting, be it botanical, zoological or historical sites of interest.

As a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA ) we are bound to a code of ethics including accuracy, disclosure, responsiveness, refunds and confidentiality. Our further memberships to associations include TATO (Tanzanian Association of Tour Operators) and ZATI (Zanzibar Association of Tourism Investors).

Initiatives that Zenith Tours have started are:

Mchangani Cultural Tourism (Zanzibar)
Together with the habitants of the village of Mchangani we have developed a plan which makes them participate in a fair way from the money visitor groups pay when the locals show them their traditional forms of living. The money is used for the development of the village, such as for the school or the construction of a well.

Stone Town Living History (Zanzibar)
In cooperation with a non-for-profit charitable acting school we have arranged city tours through the historic Stown Town. The school is open for skilled adolescents and adults who cannot afford the public acting school. During the Living History tour, the actors personify characters from the rich history of Zanzibar. The income generated by this new tourist product ensures the livelihood of the artists and contributes to the preservation of this culturally important acting institution. We prefer to cooperate with hotels and partners who have guidelines about environmental issues and which integrate and employ the local population.

World Unite! is the next step, enabling a transfer of knowledge from Europe into a variety of projects in Tanzania, and at the same time providing participants with enriching experiences in an environment which is absolutely different from their everyday life in Europe. The costs for our participants are intentionally kept very low. They just cover our operational costs and make sure that the program can be continued.
